Some antivirus programs remove the Nexus3.39.dll file. Disable the antivirus (or exclude this file)

  1. Mount the Nexus 3 Installation Files.iso image
  2. Find the Copy to folder Nexus Content in the mounted image, open it and copy all the files from it. Go to the path where you saved the files from this distribution, namely to the reFX Nexus 3 folder and in it in Nexus Content and paste the copied files
  3. Find the Copy to DISK C folder in the image and copy the Users folder from it and paste it into the root of Disk C (open Disk C and paste the Users folder into this location)
  4. Also from the Copy to DISK C folder, copy the VST folder to the folder where your plugins are stored. For example C: \ Program Files \ Steinberg \ VSTPlugins
  5. Go to the path C: \ Users \ Public \ Documents \ reFX \ nexus (aka Drive C: \ Users \ General \ General Documents \ reFX \ nexus) and open the settings.json file with notepad
  6. Find the line “library_folder”: “E: \ reFX Nexus 3 \ Nexus Content”, and change this path E: \ reFX Nexus 3 \ Nexus Content to your own to the Nexus Content folder. Please note that the path uses two characters \ and then save the changes in this file The

        I found a Solution that at least worked for me. you go into your nexus content folder E: \ reFX Nexus 3 \ Nexus Content . After that u go into the NKS folder and go into every Content Pack`s .preview folder. That will load the preview sound for each pack you go throught. Your welcome :3

          Holy shit this worked. Just go to the folder Raidon mentions (in my case it was C:\Nexus Content and go to the NKS folder. Load each folder once by just navigating into it. The sounds should all be working after that

        I fixed this by simply moving the Samples folder to the main Nexus Content folder and not a subfolder in the folder.

        AKA I moved the Samples folder from here – C:\Nexus Content\Nexus Content
        To here – C:\Nexus Content

I just need to say you guys are amazing it’s $2000 product and I cant belive I actually got it all free.All presets are working perfectly.Only one nitpicking problem I cant see EDM 6 but I cant complain about it definitely its going to be my one of best plugin period:)

I got it working in FL studio, it opens and play sounds etc and can confirm that it works just follow the steps properly. All your old project with nexus 2 will now load this new nexus 3 instead of nexus 2 so make sure you got the old expansions of nexus 2 in nexus 3 and their presets to load the sounds in projects properly. The problems is i tried new Tropical house expansions it load them i can see presets in GUI but no sound!

    Step 6: find the “settings.json” file and open it. Find the “library_folder”: “E: \ reFX Nexus 3 \ Nexus Content”, and change this to the location where your “Nexus content” folder is placed.
    For example if I putted the folder on my D drive, in a map I called “Music” I would have to change it to:
    “D:\\Music\\reFX Nexus 3\\Nexus Content
    Hope this is clear. After you changed this, click “file” “save” and restart your pc. After restart, start your DAW, scan for new plugins and tadaaam, there you go!

Once I paste the .dll file with the reg key, it appears a file called unp194113173.tmp that somehow deletes the .dll. So I can’t open nexus on fl studio. I obviously enabled all antiviruses before doing all the stuff.

      i have done this step but my settings.json didnt even have a “library_folder”: setting. i copied and wrote it correctly but it still doesnt show the presets? does it need to have E:`\\ not the C where it is?

There was a thing in Audioz when it was posted someone found this VSTI was sending data to ip addresses in China, we was told to block them and the ports. Sadly it has gone from Audioz and the text file I saved I accidentally removed. I noticed since it gets blocked in the firewall it stops loading the patches and only plays 2% of library the rest is locked. I used to work months back but I wiped my system and it no longer runs now, I have followed exactly the instructions and it only loads some samples 90% are locked.
Any advice now moving forward for the library not correctly playing sounds.?

    U need to download any of the expansion folders from the ‘Samples folder’ (for instance XpEDM2) and place the Samples folder in the ‘Nexus Content’, all the sounds and expansions come from the ‘Samples’ folder.

I have downloaded this VST many times and it (nexus.dll) gets deleted by my WIN 10 every time. I have stopped my anti-virus to use it but again it is deleted every time I restart my computer. How can I make this .dll an exception? Can someone help me in telling me if it is not a VIRUS and if not then how can I keep in my computer so I can use it like a normal VST? Thank you.

I had this on my other laptop which had Windows 7 and it worked perfectly fine but recently I got a new laptop with Windows 11 and I installed it the same way but the software doesnt recognize any sounds and its just Nexus with init saw sound. is there any suggestions for me?

Yes it”s working 100%, i have one problem.. The .dll file is Trojan virus nfortunately…It works perfectly though. The way to make it work is to turn off the virus remover, but then it infects your computer.. 🙁
but a very good synth program though..

hey, does anybody know how to get presets to all make noise on mac? I’ve done the steps above to get it to load the presets, but for some reason only like 5% of presets actually generate any noise. I tried loading the preview files, tried using a bridger, but nothing seems to be working. Any help would be great
